Dr. Kim’s impressive educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in biology from the prestigious University of Pennsylvania, where she graduated with honors (magna cum laude). She then pursued her Medical Doctorate at the esteemed University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas.
With a passion for advancing dermatological knowledge, Dr. Kim has dedicated herself to clinical research in the field. She completed a clinical research fellowship at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, followed by a combined dermatology residency and clinical research fellowship at the renowned Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. After her training, Dr. Kim joined the esteemed faculty at Johns Hopkins as an assistant professor in the Department of Dermatology. During her tenure, she served as the Medical Director of the Dermatology Clinics at Green Spring Station and Johns Hopkins Outpatient Center. Dr. Kim played a pivotal role in leading innovative clinical research as the Co-Director of the Cutaneous Translational Research Program. Her contributions have been acknowledged through multiple publications in peer-reviewed medical journals and textbooks, as well as through her participation as a speaker at regional, national, and international conferences.
Recognized for her expertise, Dr. Kim took on the role of director of the cosmetic dermatology curriculum for the residency program. Here, she mentored and trained dermatology residents, imparting her knowledge and skills in various cosmetic procedures such as injecting neuromodulators and filler and performing laser treatments and chemical peels.
Dr. Kim maintains an active presence in professional organizations, serving on the Board of Directors for the Photodermatology Society. She is also a valued member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the Society of Investigative Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery. Additionally, Dr. Kim continues to contribute to the field as an adjunct assistant professor in the Department of Dermatology at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.
